Film-fairy tale "Sampo"

In 1958, the Finns and Russians jointly filmed a fairy tale based on the Karelian-Finnish epic "Kalevala" in Karelia. Directly on Mount Sampo, Kondopozhsky district. The filming was directed by the film director Alexander Ptushko. Operators: Gennady Tsikavy and Viktor Yakushev. Mosfilm studio. Mount Sampo is located very close to Petrozavodsk (37 km). It is a rocky hill on the western shore of Lake Konchezero. The place is amazing. From the mountain, everyone can admire the magnificent panorama of forests and islands of Lake Konchezero, which stretches for 30 km.
