Pine of Lennrot

The historical monument "Lennrot's Pine" is a trunk of a century-old pine, around which at the beginning of the 19th century local residents sang ancient runes. According to legend, under the same tree in the 1830s, the famous collector and popularizer of ancient northern culture, Elias Lennrot, recorded epic songs, which later formed the Kalevala epic.
