Kinerma Village

Kinerma is a unique Karelian village, lost among the everlasting forests. It has been standing for more than 440 years. You can find it 106 km east of Petrozavodsk, directly between the village of Vedlozero and the village of Kinelakhta. In this village, Karelian Livviks have lived for centuries. The uniqueness of Kinerma in its architecture. She is just a reference example of a traditional Karelian settlement. The whole traditional space-planning structure has been preserved in it. All this makes the village an interesting monument of folk wooden architecture of the southern Karelians. You can trace the history of Kinerma from the middle of the XVI century. The Scribe books say that the village belonged to the Olonetsky churchyard, which is part of the estate of the Novgorod Metropolitan.
